This year marks the 10th anniversary of the laying of the Human Rights and Poverty Stone in Dublin on the occasion of the World Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17.

Three major events will be held as follows:

1. Changing Hearts and Minds to Leave No One Behind

First Irish Leave No One Behind Summit: The Leave No One Behind Summit will mark Zero Hunger Day (16 October) and End Poverty Day (17 October). The Summit is prepared by All Together in Dignity Ireland (ATD) with the support of Concern Worldwide.   The Summit is the final event of the 2018 'Leave No One Behind Conversations' series (visit www.leavenoonebehind.ie). The aim of the conversations was to engage Irish citizens in a public debate about ways to walk the talk of the promise included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (visit www.globalgoals.org and www.dccae.gov.ie) The event will be hosted by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission on Tuesday, October 16. The Master of Ceremony will be Hugh Frazer, first director of the Irish Combat Poverty Agency and EU expert in social policies.   Possible livestream of the Summit on Facebook or Youtube. 2. The annual national community gathering marking the World Day for Overcoming Extreme Poverty will take place around the Human Rights and Poverty Stone in Dublin on October 17 commencing at 11.00am. This year’s event will be special as the participants will be invited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the unveiling of the Stone.

3. The anniversary commemoration will be followed later that evening by the launch of the book, "Voices for Dignity", marking 10 years of contributions by people resisting poverty and those that support them at the Stone in Dublin, as well as a sing-along, to be held in the Mansion House, Dublin at 7.00pm. Extracts from the book will be read and choirs will join the participants to sing songs of freedom and dignity. The event will be hosted by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Niall Ring.
